Is it normal that i like bengali or punjabi music?

I'm a white Irish-Italian guy living in Southeast England, normally I listen to opera music, power pop punk, indie rock, music from the 50s, 60s, 70s or 80s and sometimes I'd listen to J-pop or J-rock or British or American Rn'B, dubstep, trance, dance or pop music but recently I've been interested in Asian or Arabic music that normally Hindus or Muslims listen to and I'm a Buddhist Christian, well a dedicated Christian that admires Buddha's teachings and meditation. Is this normal? I'm not racist by the way so please don't be offended by my post, I respect other cultures.

    I love a lot of music from across Asia and I'm from a predominantly caucasian area of England. I listen to Arabic and Hindi radio stations when I'm doing the washing up :P

    I think a lot of people, at least in English-speaking countries, limit themselves to English-language music, and tend not to explore the diverse music from other areas of the world.

    So I'm not sure it's particularly common what you do, but perhaps not so rare either. It sounds like you have an appreciation for a very broad range of music from all over, which can only be a good thing.

    Might I suggest, "Missa Luba"; the Latin Mass sung in styles traditional to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
    Also, there's a great album called "the Devil's Anvil" from the 60's; Hard Rock From the Middle East.
