Is it normal that i like boys with a british accent ?

Ok , so when i see some guy with a british accent its like im automatically super attracted to him and like I can Not help but smile to him like constantly the whole time i mean even if they're not THAT cute (like klaus from the vampire diaries) , but totally not the like the accent that you cant understand a single word . Anyways so i was thinking :
1- is it normal ?
OR
2-IISuperficial ?

Normal 97
Superficial 30

It's normal, and superficial. An accent is just a reflection of where you grew up, nothing more.

But I can understand it. I find a lot of foreign accents (I'm British) very attractive. They suggest something exotic, rare, new.

There are often subconscious associations that come with accents, too. Like a clean Southern English accent is often associated with wealth, good etiquette and a traditional or conservative view point. How accurate these associations are doesn't matter.

Isn't it odd how (we) British are still judged by accent.

Not as bad as it was some years ago, but the London-centricity of the media still assures that RP is still taken as some kind of norm, and, as you say, wealth and influence.

I come from the midlands, and there is to some degree there the view that southern accents sound kind of sophisticated, and northern accents still sound 'deprived', or have a comedy value.

By the way, I absolutely love the range of accents in the UK. I think it is one of the great things about our little country.

I expect it's something you find all over the world.

For example, in the US, there is this traditionally negative connotation of the Southern drawl - people think of rednecks, of uneducated, bible-bashing racist white folk. If you've got a strong New York accent, you're a scruffy, coffee drinking, cab-hailing working class urbanite.

It seems to be a universal trend that the stronger the accent and the heavier the use of slang, the less educated one is presumed to be, and by virtue of that, the less intelligent one is presumed to be.

There's a pinch of truth in the stereotype - public education tends to teach an expected way of speaking and writing, which means the absence of or apathy towards this education leads to a more unique, colloquial style, so the less standard or 'correct' your use of language, the more it suggests you haven't been taught. And that's why if you speak with a strong accent, you're more likely to be from a 'working class background' without a cultural focus on education, and people are going to judge you on that basis.

I'm from the South, but from the opposite side, the South West. Oo arrrr. I hear northern accents in media more often than I hear a Midlands or West Country accent. Not many Bristolians or Brummies on telly.

      There are many 'British' accents.

Most of them are interesting (and some barely comprehensible).

Welsh, east and west midlands, scouse, Ulster, Scottish (and many variations therewithin) southern, Mancs, Cockney, west country, Lancashire, Cumbria.

I could go on on. I will not.

There are more than two. English, Welsh and Scottish. As well as local accents, such as Cockney, Liverpudlian, Bristolian etc.

But yeah, I usually assume when somebody non-British says a British accent, they're referring to a typical, mild English accent.

Try a man and you will get over liking boys, British accent or not. Boys have no staying power and are way too selfish to satisfy a woman.
For me it's the Irish accent, but on women, thank you, no boys or men for me.

The accent is just a bonus factor , im speaking of a boy of a young age like mine but who's mature enough to depend on him on every situation who's more of a man of his word and a responsible person but a boy who has no staying powee isn't looking for a serious relationship he's just messing around and a selfish one is probably going to end up alone but i really appreciate your advice and rhank you for it

I think most things that (ugly and fat) people would say are superficial, really aren't.

I don't think that it's superficial for people to have preferences. I do not find a fat woman attractive, there are men out there who do, but I'm not one of them. Does that make me superficial? That I only find thin to full figured (again, not fat) women attractive? No, it's preferences. No one would say you're superficial for liking the color red, there's no reason they should say you're superficial for finding certain traits attractive in a person.

The only people who say that these things are superficial, are ugly, and overweight people who instead of changing themselves, blame their shortcomings on other people being "superficial".

Why should anyone settle for something less than what they deserve, but more importantly, why should someone do something that makes them unhappy, just so they don't seem "superficial"?

Superficial is an overused terms, when in the majority of cases, the thing the person is doing isn't even superficial.

With all that being said, I find any accent on a woman to be sexy.
