Is it normal that i like rubbing things in between my fingers?

Is it weird that I like rubbing things in between my fingers? I've had this habit ever since I was young. Basically I get this impulse to just feel things, like if I see some shirts on a rack in a store, I'll just absentmindedly go up and take the fabric between my fingers and thread the fabric through them. It just has a satisfying feeling. And it's not only fabric too, it's paper, pencils and anything else that's thin enough to pull in between. Also it's not my fingers in general, it's the space at the bottom where they connect to the hand that feels best. My friends tell me it's unusual, so, is it normal to thread things in between my fingers or not? And is there an explination for this? Thanks.

Wow, I was just going to ask this myself! I've had this habit since I was very young, and at 22, still have it. Except for the paper and other part, that is. I only like to rub very soft silk like fabrics. It gives me a very calm, contented feeling.
I guess it's not rare though, many ppl seem to have it.

Well, it's unusual and more of an urge but I used to do the same and also loved the sound of crinkly paper. I even had my dad buy me a bible because of the paper. As for soft things, it is a comfort and I used to feel silk and say "To feeeel" as a child as that was my best way to describe it haha
