Is it normal that i like to kill stuff?

My brother used to beat me up pretty badly when I was a child. He used to call me names all the time and I was afraid of him and did not want to be near him.

Now I very much enjoy killing virtual people in video games. GTA4, Hitman Blood Money, Assassins Creed 2, All the Rainbow 6 series, The Sims... you name it. Especially assassins creed 2, I can do it for hours just using different techniques and weapons to fancily finish off both innocents and enemies. The more dramatically they die the better. I find it fun, in an unexplainable way.

But, in real life I volunteer for a lot of good causes and people think I'm a good person. I think I am too.

So what am I? Is it normal to enjoy killing things virtually?

    Yes it's normal...as long as u don't have the urge to kill someone in real life then yes it is completely normal.

    In games? Yes, I would say perfectly normal. In games like the GTA series there are few things more entertaining than going on a rampage.

    i think that its good that you are using non-reality games to relieve your anger instead of trying to do this to someone in real life. you are releasing the negative energy from your brother. i dont know where you are with your relationship, but you seriously need to consider talking to him about how evil he is. i see a lot of stories on this IIN about abusive brothers and fathers. it makes me wonder what the heck is going on with the male psyche today. was your brother abused?

    I think its pretty normal, i like to kill people on video games too and as long as you dont kill real people its all good

      I stick to flies, mosquitoes, and spiders. That way I can steer clear of trouble.

    Go on killing virtually on the computer. As long as you don't start murdering living things (humans, animals!!, plants)

    I vote normal but watch it it's a fine line. If you so much as think that killing a person in real life like you do in your games would be fun or interesting I would stop playing the games and get some help.

    I've done that sort of thing in games before especially in GTA4 and I don't think it's abnormal.

    So long as you know you'd never do anything like it in real life as others have said, don't worry about it.

    yeah, video games make killing and violence pretty fantastical, and who doesn't enjoy removing the doors on a burning building while your sim is inside? haha

    but I agree with icecoldslushy of course, as long as it doesn't translate over into anything real... keep on keepin on
