Yes

It will stop at some point. When I had braces as a teen, I used to use pick my lips with the sharp brace metal until bleeding. Did it so often that I had a little divot or slash, not really noticible b/c it blended in with my lip, on my bottom lip. Was like a latch that went to a hook. Stopped on my own. It's not a good habit to mess around with your teeth or gums.

He said his gums bleed because he pushes a thumb tack into his gums. That's not quite normal. :) Yes they sell flossing sticks. I use them instead of regular floss because they have tiny brush like coatings on them that in my opinion do a better job than flossing normally.

they sell dental picks to remove stubborn tatar and because teeth dont bleed i recommend some vitamin C for those bleeding gums
