Is it normal that i like to touch other peoples ears?

Man oh man, ears are my favorite things. I literally think about them all the time! Here is something I like to do, that I haven't read about yet. When my boyfriend and I hug, I will turn my head so my eye is near his ear, then I will put my eyeball on his ear and close my eye on it. I know it sounds creepy, but I love doing that and he doesn't seem to mind, or maybe doesn't exactly know what I'm doing. And like most posters I only like COLD ears! Warm ears are disgusting!

Hahaha I thought about looking this up because I have done this ALL my life ever since I can remember. It's pretty obsessive for me haha only cold ears. I drive everyone crazy around me. It kind of runs in my family but it's nice to see it's pretty common.

Hello, I’m similar to all of you but somehow different as I love ears only they are HOT. More they are red and warm the better it feels.
I actually prefer men ears because of their shape even tho I’m a straight man. Touching ears is not sexual to me at all. I like to touch mostly to top edge of the ears. And I like to kiss them too. I also like animal ear. They have like a double warm skins near the root of their ears and it’s so nice to kiss it or touch it.
I’m also Gemini and touched my brother ears when I was younger. Sometimes in public transport I see some nice fine ears I really want touch lol.
Cold ears is disgusting tho. It really put me off.
But like someone mention. It’s not the ear itself we like but the shape and texture of it.

LOVE cold ears....I love the feel of them between my fingers. Not at all sexual.I wonder if there is a name for this. They have to have a name for this. There's a name for everything! So I found my people but my cat is the only person or pet I get away with doing this. And my cat doesn't really like it she tollerates it.

Also just to add to extra freakishness, I also find that I often size people’s ears up when I first meet them... the bigger and thinner the better because they go cold the quickest!

Every night to help me sleep or even throughout the day I will constantly fiddle and rub my ears - but yes, just like you all they HAVE TO BE COLD!!!! I love how they feel after a shower when they are freezing cold!!! I too will rub my families - my mum, Dad, brother. I love it so much it thoroughly relaxes me and gives me comfort. Being playing with ears ever since I was a bub. I’ve come to the conclusion it’s a safety thing, a stress release and calms me. But also just like how they feel squishy cold ear lobes.

My wife and daughter and dog forever giving them a squeeze.

Yes!! My hubby was just telling me that this was really weird, and I started looking it up. I LOVE nibbling on his cold ears and our cats cold ears. It's not a sexual thing. I'd say more of a stimulation. I get an overwhelmed feeling if I feel his ears are cold and I dont nibble on them.

This is the best! I laughed until I cried. I have been obsessed with ears since childhood, playing with my ears and my brother’s. I never even realized I loved cold ears too until it was mentioned on this thread. I love thin squishy ears. I’ve also bothered my pets plenty with my obsessive ear touching that would only stops when their ears get warm. My poor daughter has grown up being victim to my ear obsession. She was born with the perfect ears! Kind of big, thin, squishy, and always cold. I don’t do the eye thing. What does it for me is touching the top of her ears with my nose or my lips. I’m so tempted to bite them! Sometimes I’ll just kiss her ears. I’m very put off by really weird ears (especially if they are small or really thick/rigid) and I’ll always notice weird ears right away.

It's normal I do all the time :) I've done it since I was little and I don't think I'm ever going to stop:( so satisfying! I like touching them and biting them.

Well well well. Let me say that I have been doing this since I was about 6 or 7 years old. I love cold ears and fiddle with them a fair bit.
When younger, elbows, noses, not sure what else. But cold ears. I would also make funny noises to go with it - exclamations and oooh sounds. Non sexual. Never seen anyone esle does this.
I even liked cold pillows when young. Yes true

I wonder what this relates to. There is at least two associations. firstly I agreee there is an anxiety based one. And maybe a nervous body language one. But also there is the excited one.

So there you go.... I had OCD as well and whe I dealt with OCD the issue abated a little - but not really. It is a core attribute.

I had some theories about this too. It is so unique that we should all provide our estimated genetic markers on the post. It cannot be standard psych trauma or much of anything else as it is too unique and is a byproduct of a deeper gene expression.

Have not had my DNA tested but at a guess I am either Y-R1A1 or Y-R1b-L32 based on ancestry (anglo saxon male)

Well.. so here's a knowledge bomb.. I was thinking, what if it isn't about the ears but about the fingers? As I touch my own ears but also those of my girlfriend, the common denominator here is the fingers.

I used to love both my brother’s ears because their lobes are so much thicker than mine and very soft. I am really upset too because mine are slightly attached lobes and they are thin, so not only does that mean I couldn’t enjoy feeling my ears growing up, but I also can’t get small gauges. Lol

Yes!! I’m normal... every since I was a kid I loved touching COLD EARS. Yes, only family members. Wife , daughters and my parents chihuahuas cold floppers. Awesome!! Found others like me :)

I would argue that it’s not the fingers because my own ears do not do it for me AT ALL. Only other people’s or animals and again, always cold. I have driven boyfriends mad in the past and I actually think I have gradually rubbed some of the fur off my cat’s ears over the years!! (He doesn’t seem to mind)😂 I suck my thumb while I’m doing it and this adds extra comfort feels! (So relieved I’m not a freak, or at least that there are other freaks like me!) 😂😂

I'm so glad I ran across this, I was so excited when he mentioned that it's best when they're cold, the colder the better I love my dog's ears as well and I have sugar gliders they have little bit of years but when I touched him being cold it's just the same even my own ears. Does anybody know why, the best explanation I've got was that it is comforting.

Totally normal, my teenage kid has done it all his life, and yes... only when they are cold.

When I was a baby id rubb my parents ears to go to sleep it's something I've always done and it's still a habit of mine guess it's like sucking your thumb as a child it's just something I never grew out of because when my son goes to sleep I find myself with his ear. It's not that I like ears it's just there I guess he hates it though 😐

Lmao ! And I thought I was the only weirdo. I feel you. My uncle used to play with my ears in the same manner when I was little. I even play with my Doberman's ears all pets ears all the time. LOL

I love to feel my earlobes from time to time. It is soft and smooth. Also like the feeling when i touch smooth or soft anything. Pleasure to the tips of the fingers i think. Recent forums and sites say that its for comfort for those who have either a small/large form of anxiety. Theres a new cube-like object that fits in your hands and that would keep your hands to self focus etc called cubix/fidget cube. All in all though, It is normal...just like those who curl their hair with their finger while talking etc :)

OH MY GOSH, I'm the same way! I thought I was the only one our there that did this!... it drives my husband nuts... and it upsets me that I cant control it or stop it. It started was back when I was little. I first started out with playing with my moms elbows, I dont know why it translated to ears. I too only play with my husbands ears when they are cold... so weird! I'm so glad I'm not alone. I wish I could control it, cause it upsets me when he pulls away or flips out cause I cant help it. :(

OMG! I LOVE grabbing people's ears. I even have no memory of when I started doing it, I think I was doing it before I could walk, according to my family. I really, really like it and enjoy it a lot, especially when they are soft, and of course, I love them cold as well. It's not something sexual whatsoever, just to clear that out. I've met some people who do it or been told of people who do it but just a few times. I cannot get to a conclusion either of why I like it so much, though.

I love ear lobes, i love the texture and the sogginess especially when I suck them - sucking ears are the best especially thick juicy big ear lobes - sometimes taking little nibbles gently.

My dog has long ears, and when they're cold I like to weave them through my fingers. So satisfying.

The sensation I get when feeling cold ears/skin is indescribable not interested when warm. So relieved to see I'm not alone. I'm now in my 40's & have had this insane comfort feeling since childhood. The closed eye thing on cold ears (my husbands only), folding my ear when cold & my nose when cold with my thumb, I do these too🫣! My daughter lets me feel her cold ears but my son no longer does🙄. Finally found people with the same feeling sensation! I'm not alone yeyyyy!!!!

Maybe pray for our ears to hear what the Lord is saying or idk🤔😂 I know EVERYONE on here is and has done everything I've done ijk. There are literally baby videos of me 2 years old - bottle on one hand, and my other hand holding my ear lol. I do it to my kids and husband. My mom used to do it to me!!! Anyone I get really close to, baby ears are literally my fave - so cute and teeny!!! It’s always been an anxiety thing and I’ve chalked it up to love/comfort with other people idk haha

I have fiddled with cold ears literally since I was born and still do it now as an adult! they literally can't be hot, so much less satisfying - again, defo not a sexual thing, but just so comforting and something i do to people close to me (parents, brother, boyfriend, close friends).

Apparently I have loved COLD ears ever since I could move my arm. My dad asked me, when I was little, if I could wish for anything what would it be? My response was quote "A palace of cold ears". I also do the close eye thing that people have mentioned, my parents called it "eye-eye". I am glad I have found the cold ear community I can die happy now.

I am 30 years old and have loved touching ears since I was a baby. Like many others I only like cold ears. I don’t like to touch my own ears, only the ears of other people.
I also like to touch animal ears, and specifically chose a dog with silky thin ears that I could stroke all the time. I like it when I go to animal farms and get to test out all the different animal ears. Goats ears are great, as are guinea pigs because their ears are paper thin and SO COLD.
I also wish I could play with that red dangly thing that chickens have!

I’m the same! I’m a girl and it’s not a fetish either but I’m obsessed with flicking my sisters and friends earlobes cos I think they’re so cute! I wanna eat them. It depends what type of ear I like juicy red looking ones that are thicker in the middle. All my past boyfriends including my current let me bite, kiss, lick and chew their ear! Believe me it’s not sexually arousing at all it’s just I like the feeling of ears and it makes me happy. However I love warm ears I don’t like cold as much!!! I think about cutting off people’s ears and eating them cos they’re so cute. Been doing this since I was child. My ears are very soft compare to other ppl because of this habit. I love it cold. Poking earlobe inside my ear hole, put them between fingers and even on nails to feel that coldness. I love to rub others and also lick my siblings ear(the upper part not earlobe) with the tip of tongue. I love to rub dog and cat's.. esp cat bcs they always have cold ear. I also love to pressed my middle finger on my ear, to have that crack sound on ear is so satisfying, in the middle of touching ear ofc. I also love to pull down my ear by poking on the hole and pressing towards up and down, and that sound from "soft bone(?)" cracking is satifying. I touch every parts of my ear not only earlobe, I love to squeeze helix part. While doing all of these, I usually suck(?) my tongue..sometime by folded and by sticking it up, I don't know how to explain this.. english is not my first language.. Anyway.. I don't think I will ever let this habit go away.. While doing it so I sometimes zone out..

Thanks for sharing this. I thought I was the only one who enjoys this so called stupid stuff. I also enjoy sucking my lower lip while touching cold earlobes. Also am ain't sexually aroused. I just find it pleasuring. And really heavenly. I also have this habit of sucking my lower lip. It has swelled and became bigger in size over time.Trying to get rid of this second thing cz it's ruiningg my physical appearance.

I'm a photographer, and have had the pleasure of photographing a lot of ears and a lot of ears.
I appreciate each lobe, for some unknown reason? So cute I just want to squish them. SQUISH THEM ALL!

Pulling on the lobe, slowly guiding the lobe from the tip of my fingers to the webbing of my fingers. Then moving them from thumb-web, to pinkie-web. Cold ears preferred!

I have a pair of dog ears I get to scratchy-scratch. & My husband's ears are available to me too. Although, he isn't much of a fan. Probably because he doesn't have much going on for him in the lobe department.
I have noticed in our 10 years together, that his lobes have slightly increased in size. LUCKY ME!

It feels angelical when I put the Nails in the cold ear, again, non-sexually. The ears get warm after a whie so I must switch to the other one. I had just one friend that seemed adamant on not getting her ear touched, not sure why. We’re both female so it shouldn’t be weird, right?

I’m so glad I googled this. I remember from a small age I use to rub the corner of a soft blanket(usually silk). I then got my first cat and I then started to rub her ears and same for every cat after that. I also really like to almost flick the ear back and forth between my index and middle finger. When I got older, about freshman year of high school, I started dating my now husband and I started to really like rubbing his ears. After four years into dating I noticed that his ears have changed shape and he now has bumps in his ear from me touching them. He usually doesn’t mind but he says that they do get really sore after a while. It is almost as if I don’t even know I’m doing it. I can’t help it.

I am so glad I am not the only one who loves to do this!! I can remember when I was really young, like 5-6 years old, when I would stay with my grandparents.. I would sit with my Gramps and rub his ear. His ears were always cold or cool.. like everyone else, it isn't a sexual type feeling, just makes my anxiety lower and I love when I get to rub my fiance's ears. He isn't weirded out about it. I also love to rub the corner of my pillow case or blanket, but that also has to be cold too.

I found my people!!!!! My entire life, I’ve loved earlobes. But… I like warm ones only. I see everyone liking cold ones and I don’t care for cold lobes. Nice warm loves are my favorite. My husband has the best earlobes and he doesn’t allow me to touch them. He was teased about his ears as a kid… so my obsession with ears is truly triggering for him. It’s so hard because I find myself looking at his ears when we talk and he’s like…. “Ummm… my eyes are over here!” But.. it feels great to read that there are others like me!!!! Yayyyyy!!!!

I only touch my own ears and my brother’s. As a child I had two very close friends and I would touch their ears, but I wouldn’t anymore as we aren’t as close (they still remember it and bring it up randomly sometimes). I am almost constantly fiddling with my own ears or just holding the earlobe. It’s euphoric either way but it is nicer when they’re cold. The absolute best is when I can feel a faint heartbeat under my fingertips.

Like everyone else here, it’s not sexual in any way. The only reason I feel slightly embarrassed about it is I am worried it might be seen as a fetish (especially weird since I only do it with family and close friends). My ex thought it was a fetish and would try to treat it that way, but it perverted my happy ear-touching and just made me super uncomfortable. All my enjoyment of ear-touching disappears in sexual contexts. Anyway, made an account just to contribute to this community.

It is not only ears to be honest. I love the coldness of a door handle. But it must be a specific shape where I can put it between my fingers. I have this metal keyholder type thing on my car keys. I touch it whilst driving (lol). Then I also love the handle of a coffee cup when it's cold (also between my fingers). This will be the first time I admit all of this to anyone (lol).
