Is it normal that i listen to music on youtube instead of spotify?

So my school installed some free adblock on our Chromebooks (which we now have taken home) so I decided to install it on my personal Chromebook. It's probably a crime, but I now don't get ads on Youtube (except for on my phone which I can't really install free adblock). By the way, I only use my Chromebook or PC to listen to music. I haven't used Spotify since I was like 8 and don't really feel like it considering I feel like I'd have to pay for an ad free experience, and also I got a bit confused trying to use it when I was younger. I don't think anyone else is like this and I feel a bit odd.

    I just download it solely because I couldn't give two craps about Spotify.
