When I glance at a person and they smile at me male or female I just glance away and then I think oh hell I didnt smile back but then its too late, I do want to smile. This happens unintentionally how can it stop, does it happen to anyone else? If they're still looking at me I smile back.
This kind of happens to me too. Except I do smile, but I quickly look down after I smile. I don't know why, but maybe it has something to do with feeling insecure.
Try harder not to lose eye contact, it will help you build up confidence
I am the opposite. When someone compels me to look at them by their beginning to stare at me, I look at them directly until they lower their gaze or look away. I have no idea why people do this. They start it, then they become chicken shit with their "staring game" once they see that I am not afraid of them in the least. I can look at people without blinking for however long it goes on and I see them get all uncomfortable over it. And, I am not glaring at them in a mean way. I am just looking at them... People are WEIRD.
I don't think it's normal, but I can relate on a level. If someone is constantly smiling and it seems fake, I avoid eye contact, or else I can aggravated beyond control.
