Is it normal that i love my dog more than most people?

I swear I can’t stand most people I run into.. between rude and ignorant people, to nosy people, to flat out idiotic people.. don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of nice people around, but I can tell you this: I favor my dog or any sweet dog / animal over people. I’ve come to the conclusion that I love dogs more than most people 😂 Anyone feel the same? Doesn’t necessarily have to be a dog. Any pet really. The companionship, the love, the constant will to please, the overall kindness and affection.. not to mention how they greet you when you first enter a room. It’s like no other. Maybe it sounds crazy, but I’d rather be around my dog than a bunch of fake ass people

The only people I love more than my cat is my significant other and my family.

As far as I'm concerned it's normal. My cat follows me all over the house, and constantly wants to sit in my lap. I've woken him from a nap on my lap and put him in my dad's lap so he can continue his nap, but he prefers to get up, and follow me around. The level of loyalty and affection that I get from my Siamese cat is such that a human affection and interaction cannot hold a proverbial candle to it!

Omg you sound just like me lol. I can’t be arsed with most people & prefer to hang out with my rescue dogs or volunteer at an animal sanctuary. Any partner I have has to like animals & understand how much I love them (I rescue any animal that needs help regardless of the time of day/night). I know I probably sound like one of those irritating left wing SJW’s but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Dogs are innocent, forgiving, trustworthy & loyal to the last beat of their heart. That’s more than I can say about the majority of people......

Omg we are seriously twins! That’s exactly how I am lol where do you rescue these animals?? We don’t have many adoptions facilities where I live. Mostly you buy the animal you are interested in. I believe in the adopt don’t shop method for sure

I feel the same way. I would rather spend a day with my dogs than with people. (introvert)

Me too. Total introvert. Every girl I’ve dated has been the total opposite and always had to be out doing something; drove me crazy! A quiet night home with my dog and a good movie is all I need sometimes lol

  • Yep.

I'm still planning on doing volunteer work when I get my shit together and out, but a lot of the time I feel like people aren't worth it, myself included.

It's abnormal that "I love my dog more than all the people." A dog is the most loyal friend of human. And the pup you raise is the most reliable and docile companion, not merely be a pet/animal. But we can't promise all the people are kind and friendly due to different encounters, which is the fact we are unable to change. However, at least, we have the right to choose our friends, even if he is a four-legged guy. More and more people who have mental disabilities are willing to stay with their Emotional Support Dogs rather than other incredible people.

One of my friends has high blood pressure because of anxiety from busy work. She is just 26 years old and lives and works alone in a "no pet" house. Her doctor suggested her raise a pup, which is good for declining the blood level. So she adopts a cute pup and registers it as an ESA, so as to live with it. I visited her last week, and I found she really look better than before!! She said she has to walk the pup several times a day, but that provides chances to go outdoors for relax. She registered at this site: https://www.supportdogcertification.org/esa
I hope that would help people in need.
