So I love soap I have a soap collection and I never touch them ever. I don't know if that's normal but not only do I not touch them I don't let any one else.

I do it too! I love the different smells of well-crafted soaps, so I put them around the house (mostly bathroom and bedroom) to scent the air. I don't use soap as it dries my skin...but sometimes a bar goes missing. My husband has no respect for the soap lol
People collect some weird stuff. I saw a guy on TV a while back who collected toilets, and Rosanne Barr (I think) collected happy meal toys. John Wayne collected dolls, and you collect soap.
If your collection brings you joy, collect away. At least in your case if you ever tire of it, you have all the components required to "clean up your act". ;)
Porcelain I think, but I could be wrong with that - it's been a while since I read it.
P.S. I quickly looked online, and the only "specific" reference to the possible contents of John Wayne's collection was that he had 64 Hopi Indian "kachina" dolls, which are now in a museum. I was sure he had a far more extensive collection of other dolls though (including porcelain ones).
I remember it was referenced in several places - my first wife was an avid collector of barbie dolls and was trying to convince me that it would be "perfectly okay" to have the damn things all over our loungeroom. Part of her argument was "hey, John Wayne collected dolls, it's not at all girly".
I love soap. I always soap up twice and use many different brands and scents.
