Phew, I was starting to get worried that you were in a relationship with an 8 year old there:O!

And yes it's normal to have a kid at your age. I don't see what the problem is.

      Hah! I know, right??

OP: it's normal. It's a big life change. Especially if it was unplanned. I hope everything works out for you and your family.

Too late, you got her pregnant..correct? Take care of your responsibilities. You're almost thirty. You're old enough to be a father, and if you don't think so or you're not financially stable enough, you should've taken the proper precautions to prevent it. Tough shit.

Sorry, that's funny as hell. Sucks that you're not ready for a kid, but no kid is ready to be ditched by their Dad and ultimately you're the one that caused his existence, not him.

You won't know until you see those beautiful eyes looking at you. If you don't melt, send a big fat check every month or a whole ton of people will be looking for you for the rest of your life. That's the good news.

The bad news is that you'll never sleep with both eyes shut again, and GUILT will ride you like a 300-lb guy on sled for the rest of your life. Either way, do the right thing.

You hopefully just have the "HOLY CRAP!" thing happening.

Like my Dad always said, "If you don't take care of that 'thing' first, that 'thing' is gonna take care of you second... and those you love first. So go and clean your mess!"

Good god, I clicked on it to see all the comments on it saying stuff cause normally disgusting questions lead to hilarious comments. Anyway, it's fine, whether your 45 or 28 you will always be nervous when you have your first kid, I think. I haven't had one, but when I get older, hopefully I will. :) Being nervous actually makes it more exciting sometimes, so it's good, other wise if your not nervous, then you'll probably be a really bad dad. But some people are really good with kids, and might of looked after them early, so some people are never nervous.

You totally fooled me, the only way to turn is the comedy industry, where everyone ditches their wives for younger, beautiful ones. I am getting a little carried away here.....

    Lol, nice.

It's normal to get jitters and feel like you're not ready, that may very well change once she has the child.
