Is it normal that i'm afraid of dead insects?

I know that some people are are afraid of insects/spiders, but my fear is a bit different. I don't like bugs, but I'm not afraid of them when they're alive, I barely notice them.
But when they're dead is a different story: I would shiver all over my body whenever I see a dead insect, and run away. It's just something about how their legs are all curled up and crooked wings and antennas, always gets me.
But I'm not scared of other dead stuff, animals, birds, no, JUST INSECTS.
Is this normal????

I sometimes buy fried insects to eat from the discovery place gift shop. Crickets. Whenever I don't have them in a while I get scared and have to get over their eyes and legs all over again...

OMG Same here! Except for that I'm too afraid of them to eat them, it's just something about their blank dead beady eyes and scrunched up and crooked legs that's.........*shivers*

I was just looking up to see if this was a phobia sense i know there's a lot of them that are really crazy and "irrational and illogical" sounding, but real. I was surprised to see this wasn't one of them as far as i could tell- I am honestly just the same way.I love animals, insects alike, i could hold insects of any type and care less, not mind them hanging around at all. but for some reason when they're dead it's as if i can't even touch or hear them- like- the dry sound of their carcass crackling sends shivers down my spine and i tend to hold my breath and not even want to touch them, rather have someone else rid of the body. If it were alive, i'd simply pick it up and move it without mind though :0 any other dead thing im fine with honestly.

I looked this up because I love most insects when they are alive even spiders, but when they die it utterly freaks me. It makes me cringe so badly I'll freak out if it touches me and run away. I picked what I thought was a fuzz ball out of my son's hair and AaaaaaaaaA it was a dead spider. I'm still freaking out even after he took it away. I can't seem to get rid of the gaging super creeped out feeling Groooooss.I just don't get it,if it were alive I would of been fine.I even would have tried to pet it and bring it to safety.

I have the same fear. I live on a farm, so there are many different bugs. I don’t mind them when they are alive (except big spiders), it’s just when they are dead. It’s especially bad when I want to swim but mentally can’t get into the water because there are dead bugs on the surface and their wings and things under the surface. It brings shivers through my whole body and the idea of them touching me while I swim makes me want to vomit.

Am I gonna be the only one to point out this is almost word for word off of a YouTube video?

I'm terrified, and the worst part is that my terror is illogical and unjustified. I hate being helplessly afraid of things like dead bugs. Once there was one in my shower. I didn't use my shower for days until maintenance came removed it and sprayed. Now there's one outside my room. I must find the courage to remove it. I'm sitting outside typing this response procrastinating the removal. I need help.

I've heard the fear of bugs but not dead ones, not normal but who gives a poop, you're scared of dead bugs...

    Sounds rather irrational and illogical.

      It does but it's real.

It's very similar to how some people have a phobia of taxidermy.

That is an excellent point! I never thought of it that way, thanks.
