Is it normal that i'm afraid to have sex because of pregnancy? (guy)

I'm 19 and probably going to lose my virginity soon. It is likely going to be a cold emotionless rite-of-passage primarily due to my friend hooking me up with some girl he knows. I have no regrets about making my first time a loveless one night stand and I'm not interested in being lectured on why I should wait until 'the right person'. I'm not afraid of std's outside of hiv, but this is statistically unlikely (granted even if I do get it, I'm a goner anyway, so not much to worry about).

The part that I am deathly afraid of is the pregnancy possibility. Even with proper protection AND pulling out, there is still about a 2% chance that this could occur. This is worse than any possible std because a child would destroy my life and make it a miserable experience (I don't plan on EVER having children to begin with). It would ruin my huge dreams and plans for the future. People have sex all the time though with little regard or worry about this complication though. I really desire to eliminate my virginity because it is the source of embarrassment with me and I spend a great deal of time wishing I could be experiencing sex.

I have no inhibitions about stds or the fact that I'm going to lose my virginity to loveless sex to a random slut. But, the chance of pregnancy is scaring me half to death about the upcoming event. I'm not looking for you guys to discourage me from doing this, because I am going to do it no matter what. I just want to know if my fear of a pregnancy chance is normal.

Hell yes it is normal and I WISH there were more men on Earth like you! A man that doesn't want to end up being some dumb-slut's baby daddy and is willing to take measures to prevent the baby momma drama from happening? If anything, it is a sign of intelligence to have the forsight to be knowledgable of the risks and for that I praise you!

In fact, if you thought any differently then I am sure many IIN users would be begging you to NOT lose your V-card! But please, someday, reproduce. You used paragraph breaks and proper syntax. Your genes are valuable, son.

    • It was impressive, considering both the length, breadth of subjects discussed and proper sentence structure.

The fears are rational. Just wear protection, only dummies get pregnant when using protection. Someone of your intelligence wont.

God would not allow a slut to be blessed with a child that could, quite possibly, graduate from high school someday.

I just realized how mean that sounds...

        • I dont know, I have seen some pretty stupid slutty people have some pretty unexpectedly successful children. Well the kids are young, but definitely not what you expect.

Its similar to how you see really ugly people have good looking kids for some reason.

It's called a genetic anamoly and it is unlikely.

Being that I am from ghetto-redneck town, I have witnessed, first hand, the cycle of stupidity being perpetuated through the generations, with a cycle breaker here and there but the general pattern remains a constant. By stupidity, I mean people who *genuinly* believe that nobody plans pregnancy, and that it is permissable not to make an effort to prevent it.

I'm not an anon or an internet person, I have a real life and a social life and I am one of those common lay people that you see every day hanging out with a group of people and doing my thing. I've met many people and I don't think that more sheltered individuals understand just how many babies are born due to lack of use of birth control, literal ignorance of birth control or plain ole fucking whomever and not even thinking of the consequences. It's insane.

            • Yes I agree with what you are saying, most of the time the pattern fits the standard that has been the norm. If that makes sense.

People can be relied on to be one of two things, unreliably predictable and reliably unpredictable, meaning the moment you think they understand responsibility they will screw it up royally, OR when you think they are destined to be a bonehead they will surprise you with amazing insight.

You also cant discount the role religion plays in it as well, many thick headed individuals believe birth control is sacrilegious and that if Jesus didnt want me to have any more babies then he wouldnt be sending them to me. TLC's 27 and counting or whatever it is, is a perfect example.

No worries, have the girl go to a pharmacist and get whats called a "plan B" It's like a birth control pill that is about 99% affective. Its Not an abortion pill, if a girl was prego it wouldnt do anything (google it).
I have 5 kids and we Do Not want anymore!! Im not on any birth control but I do use a plan B whenever I need too and and I havent gotten prego in 6 years.

Yeah you're not supposed to use that for birth control. Plus, it's expensive.

Using plan B like that will render you infertile within a period of time and can horribly damage your uterus and hormones. You should probably stop and just go on hormones before you wake up in quite a bit of pain.

      You are probably infertile already...

Taking a birth control pill every day causes the same problems. Thats why I dont do that either.

I'd say consider waiting for this reason alone- suppose she does get pregnant? Would you rather raise a kid with some dumb slut or someone you actually love? Although i'm no virgin, it's the reason I don't have "casual" sex.

    • It would be nice if you could actually take the time to read an actual three paragraph story before trying to act condescending. I never once in my story stated that 'I' could get pregnant, I showed concern over getting a girl pregnant.

The only reason my title is slightly misleading (which anyone who understands context in the slightest could figure out) is because the title length on here required me to type things awkwardly to fit them to length.

Use spermicide and maybe look up other forms of contraception you can use along with a condom.

1 word of advice never ever rely on the pull out method as prior to ejaculation you will release sperm anyways. Also you may get so caught up in the moment that you amy not be able to pull out. x

Luckily for you, most girls with loose morals are on birth control (I like to sleep around without the worry of pregnancy so I am on bc). Also, there is a new drug that will be approved soon by the FDA that will act as a male contraceptive. Also, if you are THAT concerned you could get a vasectomy, which, if you one day decide to have children, can be reversed.

I've once heard of condoms that has lube which destroys sperm just in case in breaks or whatever. Is it true?

Yeah, its called spermicide. There are several different forms of it. All are great to use, they really help put your mind at ease.

for one unless a girl is ovulating you can usually cum deep inside her without a problem not advisable but can be done and even if she is ovulating it usually takes more than one try and even then even on her peak ovulation day you would have to produce good sperm and if you have came recently both volume and spermcount and motility will be down mating is a tricky buisiness in humans son so if you use a condom (which i don't technically see as loss of virginity but i leave that uop to your judgement)it is very unlikely she will get pregnant it usually takes 2 weeks of at least once a day cum deep inside fucking for the fertilization to take hold.

Not to be all technical, but it is true. A woman is only impregnatable when she is ovulating. Approximately 14 days after the day she starts her period. I'm a nurse. We don't hand out morning after pills on a slip up if it's not near ovulation time. It's about 3 days a month that a woman can actually get pregnant :P

Your right, there are. I just thought you guys were talking about ovulation, which is mostly true. I figured it would put his mind to rest to know that it's actually quite a task to get pregnant. Alot of couples struggle with it, opposed to the commom misconception of it being something that just happens all the time.

Sperm can live in your body for 5 days after intercourse. So in a nutshell if a women has sex 5 days before ovulation takes place she can still get pregnant. x
