Is it normal that i'm already planning my wedding?

I'm 18, don't have a boyfriend and I'm already planning my wedding!

I have in my computer all the dresses that I like, cakes, shoes, decoration, dishes and everything!

I want to get married the october 16th, 2020 and my family thinks that I'm crazy 'cause I don't even have a boyfriend, but I don't know, I think thta it's important to have all those things.

Everytime I meet a cute guy I ask him his last name, and in my mind I'm thinking: "oh, my last name could be that" or something like "mmm my kids could have that name"
Sometimes I think that I'm looking for a husband not a boyfriend :/

I think that most of us (girls) love to dream about a beautiful wedding with a handsome groom, and have a perfect honeymoon but...

...Is it normal that I'm already saving for my wedding?

Saving for your wedding is one thing.

Planning it out as if it's the event of the universe is ... the best way to scare off men. It's not all about you, it's about you AND your groom.

Too many girls forget that. As if the wedding is more important than the marriage.

    O_o

    Uhm... no.
I know a lot of women fantasise about it, but they don't go this far. Tell me, what is it that you want?

A marriage, which will end quickly if you take part in the ideology that men should be dashing at all times, sweep you off your feet, and you two will constantly be on a daily honeymoon of love, laughter, gumdrops and roses? Or a big beautiful wedding and romantic honeymoon?

Make sure you know what you want and you know what you are in for before you find yourself sitting in a divorce court because the honeymoon ended and you found out, to your horror, that he was content to watch TV as opposed to taking you out and sweeping you off your feet. Those butterflies in your stomach digest eventually...

    Hiya,

Why plan what may never happen?? As much as I like songs about a “one true love” they aren't realistic. (they probably were when they were written but wouldn't be now. )

I basically want a male version of me, who likes similar music. I've known quite a few men who like similar stuff – my music taste seems to be quite a male thing -- but even if I do find the right man, he might not want the type of ceremony I would –- handfasting and vows in medieval language(!) and you can't be handfasted to yourself (well, I suppose you could, but you'd look like a loony)

October 16th, 2020 is my wedding day with the girlfriend I don't have yet. How odd.. Maybe you are my future wife.

NEVER in my life did I think about getting married! In fact I turned 2 guys down before I met my husband. He and I were dating for 6 years before we thought about it, and I arranged the whole big 'do' 12 weeks before it.

Be careful you don't just want the wedding and not the marriage or the man coz the day after is a massive anti-climax where you just get on with it!

One girl I know, was arranging the divorce before the end of the honeymoon of 6 weeks. Her nickname is still "Rent a Bride".

I'm 18, I'm engaged and I'm not even planning a wedding... Not ALL girls think about that..

I think you should slow your horses down a bit.. I used to be in that obsessive mode (with my fiance, in fact) and once I got a reality check, everything just came into place... so.. slow it down..
