I'm honestly shocked at how low of a score this question is getting; according to past questions on this site, having an imaginary friend ranks higher on the "normal" list than being an otaku does.
For the record, I have imaginary friends as well as a very deep love of anime that goes all the way back to when my age was in the single digits. I never felt that loving anime was "abnormal". It makes me a little sad that loving anime doesn't get included in the "geek chic" trend. Why is it cool to love comic books, video games, computers and even Western animation, but loving anime still makes you a dweeb?
Oh well, I don't care what anyone else says. Anime will always be my number one hobby. I will probably still be streaming episodes of my favorites when I'm in an old folks' home.
I don't have any idea what planet you are from. If you don't realize there is such a large following for anime you must not be from earth. Since anime is in several countries and Asian pop is popular in several countries as well.
If you look at the tours these pop groups go they hit several places all over the globe. So if you really cant understand this you are really oblivious and if you cant see it you are just ignoring it.
Also you are not a weebo. People who are weebos are people who have disillusioned themselves into believing they are actually from these countries when they are not and pretend to be Asian. Otaku just means a person who is greatly obsessed with something. Though in Japan itself it has very bad connotation.
What if your imaginary friend s are of anime characters? I like can't get enough of the Anime..
So normal you have no idea. The fact that there is a term for it, kinda gives you a hint at how common this is.
You're a weeaboo, or more formally a 'Japanophile'.
It's pretty dorky but you're not alone. Just try not to let it overwhelm you; there's a difference between appreciating the cultural exports and quirks of another country, and being so obsessed your can't keep things in perspective any longer.
Here are a couple of useful links:

There's nothing wrong being into something you're passionate about. But, I would have to echo what Riddler said, the term is not quite something you should really associate yourself in Asian countries because of its typically-negative connotation (Predominantly in Japan. However, because of a "infusion" of Japanese culture has seeped into other Asian countries - speaking particularly of China and Taiwan - they even have a word for it as well, borrowing from the Japanese term itself ["zhái"]).
Well I'm not afraid to say I love anime, no doubt about it! I don't even care what people are gonna even say to me! I'M A PROUD OTAKU!
Yes! Desu~

How many manga comics do you have?
Which are your favorite animes?
Do you know how to draw manga?
Do you wanna make your own?
What animes do you watch?
(Blah blah blah blah blah)</l_>
