Is it normal that i'm attracted to someone you've known since young?

So, recently I keep seeing this boy who used to live really close to me when I was young. We went to school together although he was a lot older than me - I think I was in my 1st year of school and he was a 5th grader. He was really protective of me, always let me hang around with him and his friends.
As I got older we hung out because he lived so close then he moved away. Now he works at my local shopping mall and I see him all the time! I don't know of he recognises me but we have like weird like eye contact. Last time I saw him he started whispering about me to his cousin who I used to go to school with. Is this normal? I really like him but I barely know him anymore. His got a girlfriend too! And it's like a sexual attraction!

    The reintroduction idea sounds pretty good. Just casually talk to him. Who knows, he probably remembers you. It's always great to catch up with an old friend.

    yea def reintroduce yourself... won't hurt to dress up a little (stress on litttle), not that im telling you to steal him away from his gf, but if he really does ditch the other girl for you than they weren't gonna work out anyways.
