Is it normal that i'm convinced that catholic church is evil?

I'm a Catholic, part of a Catholic Family, born and raised in a Country that has Catholicism as Official Religion; but I don't believe in the Catholic Church.
In fact I believe The Church not only strayed from the Path since it began, but became Evil in the Middle Ages with the Inquisition and all of that.
I'm I too cynical for feeling this way or is it normal?

I think you're on the right track. It's a church about money and control. It also is not based on scripture or history. It's made up.

I think you are normal for feeling the way you do but I also think that you are not seeing all the good works that have been made possible through the Catholic church.
The grievances you have about the Middle Ages are legitimate complaints and people like Martin Luther and others created new Christian religions as a result of some of the practices. History is replete with individuals and movements which stood up in defiance of the goings on of many different churches, not just the Catholic church. But the fact of the matter is that was hundreds of years ago and that behavior would not be as easily tolerated in modern day as it was in the middle ages, dark ages or antiquity. Look at what is being done today to help humankind, not at the sins of the past.

Religion has done a lot of good in the world, but never a religion that considers itself the "one true" religion, and ESPECIALLY if they HAD to spread it by the sword. If you need an exorcism, call a shaman.

You are not the first to question the direction the Roman Cathlic Church is headed. A Roman Catholic monk named Martn Luther did and formed the Protestant sect of the church. In this day and age it is rare to find a person who can read Hebrew, Greek, and Latin and have access to the ancient texts to see where the true direction of the Christian movement was meant to go. The Bible of whatever sect is written and printed by man and is, therefore, subject to their interpretatioon of what they want it to mean to their followers at that time.

This is my Story and I want to make a few things clear:
I believe in God and in most of the Catholic Religion, the Organization is the problem. I don't trust most authorities, although I admit many priests are ok

The thing with Catholics adn other Christianity is that they Bible has sooo much in it that people use it for their own benefits. So instead of using the Bible to make a situation clearer, they will use it as an excuse for themselves. I find that is selfish and therefore can come across as 'evil'. Also the Catholic Church is very different with so many rules other Christians do not follow which makes the religion more un trustworthy, but I guess we can all choose your belief. As long as you know what you and God (or whatever you believe in) have and you are using the words of the Bible for good rather than bad (including selfishness) then there is nothing else churches can do.

Remeber churches are other peoples opinions, so try and find your own opinion

Let's call religion, all religions, myths and legends to help people who fear death. I'm a non-believer! (Former Catholic) Read Richard Dawkin's "The God Delusion."

  • Who needs to listen to an old pedophile to hear the "word of God" anyway? Just read the bible yourself

If I had a young son, I'd just as soon let John Wayne Gacy take him fishing, as allow a Catholic priest anywhere near him. (I think I speak for a lot of people these days.)
