Is it normal that i'm more stressed as ever, making more money?

Hi. My salary went from 50k- 85k, 6 months ago. I feel more stressed now with life than I've EVER felt. Is there a psychological reason behind this? Is it normal that my life is damn near perfect (in my eyes only obviously) and I'm worse today than before the raise? It just doesn't make sense to me and I can't figure it out.

    I can't say it better than this;
    The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health (your stress) in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

    Same with me. I had a period of years when my earnings spiked to a pretty high figure. My friends would say how lucky I was and that they wished they were me. Truth was, I wasn't happy at all. Now that my earnings are back down, I'm happier than ever. Weird.

    Xal,

    No that's one of the issues. My workload is much less at this position. Maybe that triggers something in my head that says I don't deserve it..
