Is it normal that i'm nervous and jumpy in my own house?

When i'm alone in my house- like when I'm upstairs and everyone else is downstairs-
I feel like something is watching me, and is waiting to get me. I'm jumpy and I imagine scary sounds (when really it's just the sound of my own footsteps)
I think the best way to describe it would be that I feel like pray- like how an antelope feels when it's being stalked by a lion.
I know there's nothing in my house and it's completely safe but I can't help feeling that I'm going to see a person watching me as I shower or I'm going to see a face in the mirror behind me. Is it normal to be so nervous?

It is completely normal, and usually the result of watching horror movies, scary videos, or even reading something scary. Just having anything scary or horrific can cause things like this, more than just imagination. I believe that even if no one ever heard of horror or thought of monsters in the dark, people would still be scared. Fear of the dark mostly comes from human instincts from long ago, because there are things that prey on humans.
