I tend to naturally slip into that mode as well. It's nice when the sun comes up and you know it's time to go to sleep.

Ah yes, I'm that way too. I'm more or less a recluse, so I get to choose my schedule. I am awake during the evening and all night, and I sleep most of the day. Sunrise is indeed my signal for bedtime.

Yep, the life of a recluse... I'm (sadly?) the same ;)
I think I read somewhere that night-owls are supposed to be more intelligent (not sure if that's true, could have been made up to justify abnormal lifestyle..)

Well many doctors and teachers have told me that I am highly intelligent, but I don't really believe them. I feel stupid because I lack common sense and have childlike mannerisms. I'm diagnosed as being on autism spectrum, so that might explain why some things come naturally to me and other things don't, as well as why I still behave like a child when I'm in my mid twenties.

Haha - I'm laughing WITH you, because I'm quite a bit like that myself. Though I'm not sure what MY excuse is!
I don't have a diagnosis like that, but I did score really highly on like a basic, autism spectrum test. Not that it means anything; it doesn't.. but I think people who got the score I did generally had Asperger's or autism. So maybe it's more like... a similar personality type or something, I'm not sure.
Do they give you like a "place" on the spectrum when they diagnosed you, or was it more like, you share those traits?
Anyway, if they say you're highly intelligent and you still retain your childish vigour and charm (lol) - that's not a bad way to be!

Nocturnality is descriptive of a species, not an individual. You are human, and as a human, you are diurnal (the opposite of nocturnal).

I'm usually more alert at night as well, considering it's 12:30 am right now, but that doesn't change my human biology. Or anyone's for that matter.

I don't think that's really true. An individual (human) can be described as nocturnal. So can an activity, an event etc.

I'm not 100% sure but I think someone would have to be an extreme night owl to really qualify as truly nocturnal. Like, they literally sleep all day and do all their activities at night. That might be hard to achieve but I guess it's possible.

I do that especially in the summer when it's 110 degrees out. It's been hotter than that all week here. Was 114 yesterday afternoon. I saw a six pack of soda geyser out of somebody's truck bed going down the street because it was so hot. They were going off like bullets cast into an open Fire, was crazy.

When I was younger I loved it. Then my mid 30s hit and I just got into the online forums a couple chapters of a good book and I'm out . Lol but I have to agree there is something about the night that is exciting and makes you feel alive.
