Is it normal that i'm scared i might die in my sleep?

When I was a child, I was sickly, overweight( due to the fact that I was sick in bed for a good two years of my childhood) and had heart problems. I'm much healthier now then when I was a kid. I exercise, eat right, and stay active, but I still have heart problems. I worry that my pacemaker is going to malfunction or something and my heart will stop beating in my sleep. I get chest pressure and my heart sometimes beats fast for no reason. I've been to several doctors and they always say I'm fine, but I still worry. is it normal to worry so much about dying in my sleep?

Well, you need to realize that you're not obese anymore and that you're healthy, like you describe above. Stop worrying and keep it up, be very proud of yourself. Not a lot of people get to go that far.

You should not feel that way. Unless your doctor says that you are going to perish, you shouldn't feel that.

  • Thats how you want to die. You won't even know you're dead so it's really, really, really stupid to be afraid of this...what you should be afraid of is being stuck under a car for 8 hours slowly bleeding out.

A pace maker should be tested and checked every few years.

Anticipation of death is worse than death itself, with that in mind people are probably lucky to die peacefully in their sleep.
