I'm going on holiday in the summer for two weeks, living on a boat, and I want to get a hollywood wax so I don't have to keep shaving, but i'm so terrified of the pain. Is it as bad as people say, and is there anything I can do to make it less painful? Is it normal to be this scared?
It's quite bad whilst you're having it done, but the lady that waxes you will talk to you and ask if you're okay throughout. And the results are good. Waxing thins the hair. Don't let them use teatree wax on you though, that is rubbish stuff. Also ask around for a place with a good reputation. Good luck!
Yes It does hurt. But If you want to "look great" in that area, especially if you're going to be living (mostly) in your bikini do it. I did and I was glad, cause I felt "secure"

Yeah, it bloody hurts. I won't put up with it normally, but I would do it if I was going on a two week holiday. There's no harm in giving it a try, it might not be as bad as you think it might be C:
It'll be fine, don't worry about it. I mean yes it hurts but so do lots of things, getting your ears pierced, getting a tattoo .. it's not excruciating.
it does not hurt that bad i promise ... like no its not an enjoyable feeling but honestly you wont scream or cry. dont be scared just get it done and enjoy your hoilday :)
Honestly I do my own waxing and I enjoy the pain and you get used to it. Don't let fear stop you from doing the things that will make you happy!
Fear is normal. It is uncomfortable especially first time, but it isn't as bad as your mind tells you. I run 2 waxing businesses and we have never had anyone not make it through a procedure. The great thing about it is that the pain/discomfort is only in the moment. We see a lot of first timers, and they book again to come back (so it can't be to bad ;)
Plus the benefits of routinely waxing are worth it.
I would go to a place that specializes in waxing to ensure quality and cleanliness.

Good luck, and if you decide to do the waxing, please do not apply any products to the area being waxed (before or after unless they specific aftercare product recommended by the Waxer). Using other products like numbing creams or lotions not approved can cause a reaction or worse.... your pores will get clogged after the wax and cause you to break out.
