Is it normal that i'm studying to be an ese teacher and

I'm studying to be an ESE (Exceptional student education)/ESOL/Reading endorsed elementary teacher. I grew up in the ESE system and understand that ESE children are barely ever special or exceptional, they are (locally) normal kids who don't like to read. Kids who have tried weed, mollies, coke, shrooms, and meth, or at least weed. I want to try all these drugs while I'm in college so I can better understand and teach my students in the future. Is this normal?

If that's how you want to justify your decision to experiment....or, you could accept them as they are and not judge them for their choices. You have already labeled these kids as "nothing special or exceptional." Why do you want to teach if you have no hope for these kids? Maybe I misunderstood your intent.

If these students were "special or exceptional" that would be bad or the students would be legally retarded and earn special diplomas. Special in this case means a special diploma which is worse than a GED. Colleges don't accept special diplomas unless they're private and then college expenses multiply times at least 7. For example, St. Leo University accepts everyone, but if you have a special diploma and go to St. Leo you can take College Algebra for a whoppin $700. If you have a Special diploma you can't go to Community College (public schooling) where college algebra only costs $100.
There's two ESE categories: The ones earning a special diploma (legally retarded) and
The ones who are labelled EBD for the wrong reasons and are earning a regular diploma (the ones I'll teach).
Since modern ESE students can earn regular diplomas, they're normal. They're probably from Section 8 housing and just labeled as EBD (Emotional Behvaior Disorder). Yes, that's really what the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) label is, EBD.
I think that's harsh and bullshit.
Public schools can really judge EBD/ESE students like they're all "Special" (legally retarded).
By "nothing special or exceptional" I mean, these kids are capable of achieving great things and being learners, they're not retarded.
