Is it normal that i'm terrified of balloons?

Is it normal that I'm absolutely terrified of balloons? I can't even be around deflated ones. People think it's hilarious to chase me with them, but it'll drive me to the point of a mental breakdown. I can't think straight, my mind feels like it's buzzing, and I start sobbing hysterically. Normal or not?

I suggest you see a psychiatrist or try yourself to slowly get used to them. Everyone has fears though and don't be afraid to tell them to stop.

I can handle the foil and water balloons.. but other than that I wont be anywhere around a regular balloon. But its just because I hate loud noises and being startled.

It's more normal than the guy who loves balloons, like mire than a friend.

It's no where near normal but if I knew you I wouldn't let it stop me from having you as a friend.

Haha, reminds me of this kid in the 4th grade who was sent home because he's so scared of balloons. Get over it baby. What if you get married one day, and you have a party with your kid, who wants to pop balloons? See a doctor or something, to get over your balloonophobia.

Balloon Phobia Many of these sufferers will tell you that what causes the most fear is not the actual balloon itself, but the anticipation that at any moment that surface could fail and that blast, like a gunshot, could go off.

Awwww it's normal to me in a way! Everyone has that one fear that really breaks them down! I have multiple! Don't you worry, the balloons won't harm you but maybe try and get some help it should be easy if you train the mind with some excersizes involving balloons! :)
