Is it normal that i mess with my dog this way?

I have a year old Jack Russell. He's easily scared. Is it normal that I will go through the trouble of turning off all the lights in the house and creep up behind him and yell "UGLY PUPPY UGLY PUPPY" until he sprints upstairs?

I hope he grows up and pays you back. Wouldn't it be great if he learned to trip you when you were at the top of the stairs and you fell all the way down?

How would you like it if a Rottweiler pulled the same crap on you? I'm not saying I want a vicious dog to attack you but what a Rottie who was probably a sweetheart that you didn't know got a little aggressive.

But seriously, why do you want to torment your dog like that? You're supposed to be his best friend. He loves you! Skittish dogs need their people to make them feel secure and help them build confidence not tease them.

I don't know much about Jack Russells but if that were a Shetland Sheepdog or a Doberman Pincher you could really mess the poor pooch up and get some submissive urination in the house or a good BITE!

That's fucking terrible. How would you like it if you were in the dark and some unknown person crept up from behind and scared you shitless while screaming profanities at you?

How odd that you should turn off the lights when a dog's sense of smell and hearing easily outperforms their sense of sight. Also, if you want the slight advantage of turning off the lights, perhaps you should wait until it's dark rather than doing this at noon like you have been doing.

Its mean but funny at the same time. I imagine whats goin through the dogs head afterwards is just slight confusion and forgets all about it. You could have gave him a heart attack though.
