Is it normal that i need my "death fix"?
I've been fascinated with the darker side of life from a very young age. I used to frequent websites like crimelibrary, ogrish, and rotten for amusement and sometimes will watch autopsy videos out of curiosity and interest. I plan on attending mortuary school to become a mortician and embalmer (an odd career choice for a 20-something year old female college graduate). I can look at photographs of the deceased for hours, wondering what their final moments were like. However I am afraid my fascination with death may be unhealthy. Suicides are the most intriguing to me. I have had recurring suicidal ideation and depression for years...and I think of suicide as an "escape" or coping mechanism which eases my mind when I'm under a lot of stress. Does anyone else share this fascination with the macabre?
