Is it normal that i no longer rely on cash?

I no longer rely on cash these days, these days I prefer using my card or using Google Pay to pay for things. Mostly because of how the world will soon be a cashless society more and more people will start to rely on credit/debit cards.

Who knows the world will even be cardless? ( with people relying on apps to do the job only ).

    Big Government loves you.
It makes all your finances easier to track, tax, or seize.

Stash cash somewhere just incase. Monero is a good untraceable crypto. If shit ever hits the fan your funds can be seized in your bank account. It will probably never happen but it never hurts to prepare for the unexpected.

I read the other day that the famous Chicken Ranch whorehouse in La Grange, Texas accepted payment in the form of live chickens during the Depression era.

I dont get why so many people are upset over using bank cards or apps. Are they paranoid or are they afraid that doing illegal stuff will catch up to them?

It's so awkward to buy something for 2$ and reach into my wallet and see no cash.

Using a card is 100% easier to buy stuff but for small payments it's kinda weird.

I think it's a bad idea for everyone to stop using cash, at least if the alternative is to use debit/credit cards instead. When you use a card, you're relying on the bank in order to make that purchase. You basically need to run your purchase past the bank first before you can make it, you're basically asking permission from the bank to use your own money to buy that item. You might think it's not like they can refuse you buying something though, but they could. There's every possibility of them blocking transactions in the future if those transactions go against their own interests, eg. if you want to donate to an organisation or political party that speaks out against the banks. Not to mention, this also removes any privacy we'd have over our purchases, since the banks (and government) would be able to view everything we spend our money on. The banks already have a lot of control, but if we use cards exclusively then they'd have full control over every single one of our purchases (not just online purchases). And this would greatly affect our freedom, not just financially, but our general freedom as well.

If we want to pay for things in person, then we should be using cash. And if we want to pay for things remotely, then we should all really be using cryptocurrency (particularly Monero for its privacy benefits). If we all used Monero then it would be impossible for the government to stop it. A currency's value is determined by the people using it, not by the government issuing it. The dollar isn't worth something because the government says it is, it's worth something because millions of people around the world say it is. The same would be true of Monero if we all just adopted it (and pressured corporations to accept it). We would then finally have full power over our own money. I don't mean just the money that we own personally, but we would then truly own our monetary system, rather than the government/banks owning and controlling it. That would be the government's/bank's worst nightmare, they wouldn't be able to control us through our money anymore. So we should all try to accept and spend Monero when possible, and fight against any efforts to outlaw it. Monero (and cryptocurrency in general) is about more than just trying to make a quick buck from investments, it's about creating a better world for the future.

PS. If the government ever come out with their own cryptocurrency (aka. Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) or Fedcoin), then don't trust it just because it's a cryptocurrency. In reality it would be even worse for privacy than debit/credit cards are now.

I stopped using cash for many reasons, because I got so fed up with having to carry paper notes and coins in my wallet. Now days I only use my card. it's quicker and easier to deal with then trying to shove cash back into my wallet after paying for something.

Cash will soon be obsolete. Sweden is almost a cashless society. No dirty money to exchange. No counterfeit problem. And no worries about deadbeats robbing you.

I still use cash, but mostly use cards because I don't like carrying large amounts of cash around. Cards/accounts can be frozen and charges can be disputed, but lost or stolen cash is impossible to recover.

My state will literally rob you if you get pulled over with abunch of cash. They say that you have to prove to them that the cash is legitimate. Which is absolutely illegal we have something in our constitution that says "innocent until proven guilty"
