Is it normal that i occasionally experience sudden waves of itching?

Literal sudden waves of itch. They're like goosebumps (like a wave thoughout my entire body), but with awful itching feeling, aside from it being suddenly occuring and really annoying. I've been hinted that these might be a hygiene problem, as I am not really the "moisturizer" type of guy, and that this also roots back to a problem with kidneys/liver. But, It only happens when I gets suprised or disgusted or cringy (et cetera). Is it normal?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

It would be so much better if you had a poll.

I get something similar! I have attacks of "crocodile" skin, with rough, reddish lumps on my skin. Not everywhere, but all over my upper arms and chest. And, often, it becomes unbelievably itchy, and it is very hard to avoid scratching. Sometimes, I find a spot where I need to press a finger nail in so hard that I cut the skin.

I am undecided regarding the cause - some issue with the liver is possible. Alternative, it could be some sort of allergy, and I know that I have a few allergies, so this is just one more. But the cause? Too hard to say, and I don't have the time (or money) to go down the path of a thorough medical investigation.

they are called hives, they form when you itch too much in a specific spot which causes the bumps which then causes you to itch them EVEN MORE causing MORE bumps around the areas. try to resist itching and apply coolant

I'm always itchy. I love to scratch and be scratched. I prefer a "tickle scratch".

It's only a problem if you get "disgusted and cringy" often.
