Is it normal that i peel off the skin at the sides of nails?

I tend to peel skin at both sides of the nails (each finger) using any sharp and pointed object. And I've been doing this since forever. Is it normal? Or am I the only one doing it?

    I bite the tips (skin right after the nail) of my finger off. Probably showcasing how anxiety ridden I actually am.
