Is it normal that i pick fleas of animals?

Ok so I have a few cats and every time I play with or just pick up one of my cats up I start picking fleas off them. It's turned into a huge bad habbit. I'm very gentle with the animals but I search through thier fur and pick and kill the fleas off them. Even when I'm at others peoples house as soon as I pick thier cat and dog up I look through thier fur so does anyone else do this ?

That's just a human instinct. It goes back to when we were monkeys and cleaned each other off by picking at their fur to clean it.

I think you should take care of your pets and give them a flea bath!
