You can try joining roleplay groups to let off creative steam.

Yes, come to the dark side.

      P.S. I'm a roleplayer.

Hm this sounds almost similar to my talking to myself, as other people as someone might phrase it, acting out scenarios except wen I do this I'm not thinking of playing pretend or anything. I just do it and usually it ends with catching myself doing it and then I talk to myself about not talking to myself (but of course it is a person who isn't really there telling me not to) XD

i tend to think about what it would be like to meet an intelligent alien race, or even a fictional character like twilight sparkle or the crew from red dwarf.

in a way, tons of people "play pretend" in one way or another. Whether playing halo or world of warcraft, writng my little pony or harry potter fanfiction, even being a war renacter or going to an anime or comic convention in costume. (sounds a little geeky i know, but yeah)

I'm 35 and also do it. I've always had a hyperactive imagination, and I doubt it will ever change. I had heavy involvement in roleplaying games from 1997 to 2002. (The traditional book and dice type, not the video game versions thereof.)

I'm 25 and I still do it. It's something the brain does to prepare itself for future situations. Most people run through hypothetical conversations in their head, or what they might do if an intruder came in their home. It's a planning device. There's nothing wrong with it.

I do the same thing. It just means that you have an active imagination. You could become an author or a TV exec!
