Is it normal that i pretend i am in fifa?

I know I am doing it and it's not an unconscious thing or anything, but when I'm playing FIFA or Football Manager, I pretend I am really a football manager. I sometimes make up scenarios in press conferences and answer the questions.

It doesn't really interfere with anything I do, when I stop playing the games I just forget about it, but when I play them I really pretend I am in the game, I talk about issues such as if I make a new signing or if an incident happens in the game to myself.

I've spoke to a few people about it and they said that it's pretty normal, as long as I know I am doing it. I am aware I am doing it and it isn't some involuntary thing, it's something I've been doing since I was a little kid. I guess I just like my games to be realistic.

    Nothing wrong or abnormal about it at all. In fact, far too many video games these days try to force this immersion upon you, instead of giving you the breathing room to do it yourself. But, to their credit, not everyone has the imagination to immerse themselves like it sounds that you do. Back in the day I did the same thing with Sim City (the original, also the SNES version, not PC). Pretending to be the mayor of my cities actually inspired me at a young age to declare my future occupation to be a "city designer". Instead I'm a musician, but for a while there I truly wanted to build cities when I grew up.

    A couple of guys I know aren't into video gaming, except Football manager, I mean they are both obsessed with it.
