Is it normal that i randomly become obsessed with video games?

Okay so I love video games. But it seems that I usually become uber obsessed with one video game at a time for Long periods of time.Like the first video game I ever obsessed over was Zelda.Then games like Assassins Creed and
Final fantasy.I'm not attracted to any one specific genre it seems more than the other.And all the video games I used to be obsessed with I still adore now it just seems like I focus deeply on one at a time.The game I'm obsessed with at the moment is portal.To sad the games don't come out that often.And also I don't usually develope feelings for the characters.But the charters are usually part of the awesome.So anyways is this normal?(I'm a girl BTW)

    I find that modern games lose my interest really quickly I can no longer stick to one game i play all sorts now.

    When i play something of yesteryear that i remember liking back in the day it has me hooked like it did all those days ago.

    Sure the tech is better but the substance doesn't seem to be.

    I think its totally fine to be obsessed with video games. If its a once in a while thing. I play a lot of video games with my bf, but we complain a lot when we play black ops 2 online.
    Video games, for me, is somewhat of a release for me from my everyday 'normal' life. I love to just sit at home and delve into a surreal world where you can be whoever you want. You can be master chief saving the world over and over again, against hostile covenants, or surviving a horde of zombies.
    I agree, games are not what it used to be. Alrhough the graphics have improved remarkably, there seldom is a good storyline out there. As an old fashioned kinda girl, my heart goes to zelda and occasionally super smash bros.
    As long as it doesnt interfere with your work, school, relationships etc.. I think its a good way to let off some steam.

    Cod is my obsession thanks to my boyfriend whom I love teaching me how to play Xbox years ago so yeah it's normal, I love black ops 1 and two all the zombies maps in one, tranzit, then there is multiplayer, just coming off double Xp points weekend ..sigh see I'm a girl and could go on and on on about it. Did I mention my bf hand painted my controller bright pink with sticks yeah he loves me.

    I cannot relate, but it sure is normal. VG obsession is a bit of an epidemic.

    Haha yeah I'm currenty obsessing over all Zelda, FF and AC :D
    Probably because the thing I love about games the most are the characters and story and all those have awesome ones.
