Is it normal that i roar in my students' faces

SHUT UP. I have a professional teaching job teaching English Literature. Occasionally my students vex me and I find that the only way to shut them up is by roaring in their faces. Also sometimes I puff up my cheeks, widen my eyes and stare at them untill they SHUT UP.

And that is probably why they shoot spitballs at the back of your head when you write on the board...

Why don't you just sit there silently until they realise that they are only harming themselves? You still get paid, but they learn nothing - and so fail :o)

Maybe its time you quit being a teacher.

You sound more childish and immature than the students

  • Quit your job, for the sake of both you and your students.

  • They should shut up though, shouldn't they. I don't blame you for screaming it in their faces.

I could never teach young people. Their parents have been letting them get away with being disrespectful to their elders since they were in diapers. But since they don't know any different, they'll never change. Or at least not until they get fired from their first job for being thoughtless and rude, but they'll still blame it on everyone else but themselves.

Trust me, the real world WILL come crashing down on them one day and give them the reality check of their lives.

Not in america it's not, but I guess maybe in China, in the places where they're like, you know, totally secluded for miles and miles. My math teacher actually did this on the first day of class at the beginning of the year, but he hasn't done so since.

but anywhoozle i say if it gets the desired effect continue - whats the worst that happens? they roar back? (OMG a kid should actually do that XD)
at least you're not like a couple of teachers at my school - the drama teacher and one of the english teachers are always reduced to tears by the end of a year 11 class x3 i would say it isnt funny, but i'll admit it now, you'd find it funny watching a grown woman running out of the class crying because we dont share their love for shakespear
