Is it normal that i rock back and forth?

Basically, the other day I was sitting on my bed, doing homework, and I thought I was completely fine, and all of a sudden, I noticed my hand going back and forth, and I looked in the mirror, and my body was rocking back and forth. Is it normal?? My friend told me she does the same thing, but she's always more stressed out than I am.. Is this a kind of sickness or disorder??

What Shackleford96 said is true (I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine that would be a stress thing) though I'd say it's more frequently seen in the real world with people with autism spectrum disorders. My cousin used to rock when he was little, he wouldn't be aware he was doing it. I've seen other kids bounce up and down (but then that can just be fidgeting, it all depends on the degree).

Or like you say in your post - you're probably just stressed or tired or something. It's a coping mechanism or whatever you call it. I'm sure you'll be fine, but if you're worried about it, see a professional.

It is often portrayed that people in mental health clinics and insane asylums have this type of behavior.
