Is it normal that i say the shema every night?

For those who don't know (and from seeing the people on IIN, I'd say that's a lot of you) the Shema is one of the most important Jewish prayers, which proclaims that there's one God.

I don't know how many other people say prayers before going to sleep. I mainly do it because it's something I've been doing for years, and it seems like something reliable in a world that always changes. Is it normal?

It means that you have a strong faith in your religion, which is normal. :)

Couldn't care less what you call it, but if you're older than 8 and still talking to an imaginary man in the sky (THE one-and-only) then that's pretty sad. Unfortunately, a lot of people think it's normal behavior.

It is most definately normal to say Shema every night if you are a Jew. It is actually an amazing thing and a lot more than normal.
BiliousPeasant: why do you think it is sad and what makes "It" imaginary? It is quite a praiseworthy thing to stick strong to your belief.
