Is it normal that i shower in really hot water?

So when ever i take a shower i normally have the faucet/handle thigy all the way up. I just noticed how hot it gets.

    I like to boil myself too. Be sure to give yourself a cold splash at the end thou, in order to keep your skin from jumping off your body.

    i can hold under the really cold water for a solid half hour, but cant be under the hot water for more than 3 seconds, how the fuck is that possible
