Is it normal that i sleep talk? (i'm a teenager)

I sleep talk everyday. I tried to search for ways to stop it but they were all useless. It's very embarrassing that my mom hears it but she refuses to tell me what I've said. I'm embarrassed to sleep when anyone is around. Is it normal that I sleep talk when I'm a teenager? And if you have ways to prevent it, please write it down in a comment.

Loads of people habitually sleep talk. It's not as common as snoring or anything, but still I've known a few people that do it. My friend Nolan would always do it. He'd say the weirdest stuff in his sleep.

Definitely normal. It's possible that you're literally "caught up" in your dream, u tend to speak in reality & your subconscious doesn't catch it. My brother sleep talks sometimes & I will admit that it is amusing...

Some of my friends sleep talk too. I once heard my friend saying "NO! (the name of her brother) GO OUT!! THIS IS MY ROOM, NO, NONONONONO". It scared me at first but then it was funny, but i didn't laugh at her, it's not that bad!

Try sleep-farting and perhaps the talking may stop. Worked for me

Hmm, I'm not a specialist really, so it's just a personal experience.

I used to talk in my sleep, using a bunch of diffirent languages, and even though I never said anything bad it still freaked people out.

What I did notice -it didn't happen every night, just the nights when my mind was racing, when I was stressed... in general, when there was more brain activity going on than there should be.

So the answer for me was just meditating and relaxing before I go to bed, instead of studying or watching stuff.

    Hope it helps! :)

Less embarrissing than my cousin's problem. He sleep talks so much that you can literally have a conversation with him while he's sleeping.

    My brother does sometimes.

Unfortunately, all my attempts to interrogate his subconscious have failed :(

I thought of recording it, though I thought it wouldn't work. Thanks Sir/Ma'am! xD

Maybe get one of those voice activated recorders.
Then you will only have your talking on the recording and won't have to listen through hours of silence to find out what you said.
