Is it normal that i sniff my dogs head when i kiss him or hug him?

I love my mini daschund , Chuey. He's got puffy soft fur and when I snuggle with him I sniff his head and kiss him. Is this weird? I do the same thing with my giant cat (26 pounds and his head is bigger than a softball).

    I always smell my cats when I kiss them. I love their smell, it's so comforting. It triggers an extreme happiness in me when I smell my cats. Maybe that's weird....but oh well!

    No, it's not normal. It's not normal to kiss dogs either. The next time you kiss him, think about where he puts his nose -- in his own and other dogs' asses, in every pile of crap he finds, and on every dead animal he comes across. People can get all sorts of diseases from dogs.

      I have been kissing my cat on the head since i have been 5 years old, and i am not dead yet, nor do i have any diseases. P.S. That is False that you can get all sorts of diseases from your Dog or cat. I should know, i am an Vet As.

    I do this with my dog. I smell her fur while we're snuggling. I just love her so much =)

    i do this too! one of my cats (she is full grown) has a very young/kittenish face and she actually smells like a baby! i love her so much!
