Is it normal that i talk to my parrot and kiss him?

I love picking him up and having him over my shoulder but my boyfriend says "its too much when i talk to a parrot or even kiss him because a bird doesn't know what im saying". Lol I just wanted to know if this is normal?

    It's normal to love your pet. Anyone that think's it's "too much" to talk to or kiss their pet is an idiot.

    AWWWW! Fluffy little birdie dat is always talked to and kissed! Be careful if your bird is sick, though... They could spread diseases
