Is it normal that i talk to people i know who aren't there?

For the past few years I do this thing where when I am alone I talk to people that I know or who I have met but who aren't there. If I have a doctor's appointment, I'll then go home and imagine I'm then talking to the doctor still and sharing things with them. I'll say 'On' when I want to do this and then 'Off' when I want them to not see what I'm doing any longer, like going to the bathroom.

Is this normal?

Sounds like you need more friends and more of a social life.

Are you aware the other person isn't there while you are doing this?

    Sounds like self-therapy.

As long as you don't do this I public and the people who aren't there don't answer back.

  • I do a similar thing. I think it's only a little odd if you talk out loud whilst doing this, but obviously it's fine either way.
