Is it normal that i think animal welfare is completely stupid?!

So, about 4 or 3 weeks ago, i started seeing this dog, it's a girl, and shes a pitbull. She was so skinny you could see her ribs:( By that time, i started feeding her, she is a very friendly dog. But she is also scared. By now it has snowed and its very cold out there. We called animal welfare a total of 5 times! They came once, they didnt catch her, so they left. This poor dog is in the freezing cold! :( And thats bullshit, their gonna let a dog suffer, which is pretty much abusing it, and we fucking go to jail for that?! What about their dumbasses?! We want to let her in, but she looks sick, and we cant trust her.. (also we have another dog and cat..) so is it normal for them to let a dog suffer like that?! :((

    Capture the dog yourselves and bring it to animal welfare or the Humane Society.

      And if you believe she's now on a farm in Wisconsin, I've got some prime real estate to sell you in the Everglades......

    Try luring it close to you with food, and bring it to a vet immediately (if you want to keep it) or to the animal shelter. It needs your help. If it doesn't bear it's teeth at you or seem mean, try to help it out.

    you must do things yourself ... dont count on agencys ... they are just there to earn money ... you are there because something in need is placed infront of your path , what you do about it is up to you... but expicting someone else to do it is probably not wise :) anyway best luck with that ... its a hard situwation but probably one that will be deeply rewarding in the future.

    i am not sure where you live, but they are not like that where i live. you should catch the dog and look after it. you will need to take it to the vet for a check up and to see if it has been chipped. put an add in the local paper to see if anyone has lost a dog and put in a short description. after that, if no one has claimed the dog then its up to you if you want to keep it or give it to a shelter. maybe put another add in the paper to give her away to a good home.

    i have looked after dogs, ducks, pigeons and other wild birds until they get better then normally release the wild birds back but with dogs you cant do that. please dont leave that poor dog out in the cold to die. keep her separated from your other dog and cat if you cant trust her. maybe if you know someone that doesnt have any animals, get them to look after her.

    but it seems most xmas's for me, a stray ends up on my door step and i do what i can in my power to make sure they get well and find a good home.

    best of luck xx

    They came out and tried to catch the dog. Animal Control does not have the resources to spend hours, or days, trying to catch a dog that doesn't want to be caught.

    If you don't want the dog to suffer, do the humane thing and shoot it or poison it.

      @Northernstar

      How is poisoning an animal humane?
      Thats one of the most ignorant comments I've seen on this site all day.

      & Yeah I think it's normal for them to act like that,
      PETA does the same shit.
