Is it normal that i think christianity is alienated from the bible?

- The ignorance of God's name, "Jehovah" (tetragrammaton YHWH). This name appears over 7,000 times in the scriptures, but most modern translations have edited it out and replaced it with LORD (all caps) or similar titles.

- The use of the cross, images of Mary, and other idols are unlawful (Leviticus 26:1, 2Corinthians 6:16). Neither the word "stauros" nor "xylon" can rightfully be translated "Cross". The image comes from ancient Pagan religions.

- The veneration of Mary and the Apostles was not practiced by first century Christians and has no scriptural basis. There is no basis in the scriptures for praying to Mary or the apostles.

- The idea that there is a "soul": that survives death is unscriptural. (Ecclesiastes 9:5, Genesis 1:20, Ezekiel 18:4) A "soul" (ne'phesh) is simply a living thing. Animals are souls. Humans are never described in the Bible as having some kind of supernatural spirit.

- The existence of Hell is unscriptural. The words that were translated into "Hell" consist of "Sheol", which simply means the state of being dead, "Gehenna", which was a burning trash pit outside of Jerusalem where DEAD criminals, animals, and debris were thrown (dead things do not feel pain), "Hades", which is the closest Greek translation of "sheol", and "Tartarus", (not the same tartarus as in Greek mythology) which is a prisonlike condition that disobedient angels are subjected to. None of these terms describes the modern concept of Hell in any way. Hell is an ancient pagan idea.

- The gospels make it clear that Jesus and God are two distinct individuals (John 17:3, John 20:17, John 20:31, John 1:18, John 10:36, I could go on and on). The trinity doctrine has no support in the scriptures and stems from ancient pagan religions.

These are just a few examples; I didn't want this to be too long. Have any other Christians undertaken a thorough study of the Bible and come to realize how corrupted Christianity is today?

Next time one of Jehovah's Witnesses knocks on your door, talk to them about those points. Those are six things that we believe that make us different from every other religion.

If you want the truth about the bible and where 98% of it came from(at least the old testament), look at the Sumerian texts. They are the oldest know civilization in the world. Straight out of the caveman era.

Modern science has proven that only weeks to months before their existence, man didn't even k ow what a wheel was. And all of a sudden POOF they're doing math and know the EXACT location of all the planets, their sizes, what they consist of, and their distances from one another. Something that we didn't even FULLY know until the 1970's.

They have made 1000's of accurate predictions on astronomical events like eclipses and alignments and not a SINGLE prediction has been wrong. NOT ONE!!! They have the stories of Adam and Eve, Noah's ark and Moses all in their writings. And they talk about a 12th planet that their gods came from. They lived in, what is now, modern Iraq.

Also, half way across the globe, another civilization (the mayans) were speaking of the EXACT same thing. With the EXACT same names and the EXACT same gods and planets. These 2 cultures didn't even know te other existed, yet they tell the exact same story to a T. Oh, and they both speak of 2012.

Jehovah Witnesses have been trying to explain these very things to people for years! At least one person has gotten it. :) Wait, are you a Jehovah's Witness?

Why is it, you think, that Jehovah was replaced with other titles?

    • It is because of superstition regarding God's true name that originated with the Jews. Judaism deviates from scripture just as much as Christianity (continuing to exist is one way it does this.)

The 2nd, 3rd and 6th points are part of what the Mormons believe.

    Regarding "Hell":

"Tartarus", (not the same tartarus as in Greek mythology) which is a prisonlike condition that disobedient angels are subjected to. None of these terms describes the modern concept of Hell in any way.

Actually most Christians believe that Hell is a prison of sorts, so that actually DOES describe the modern concept of Hell.

    • Mormons believe in the divinity of a book that is by no means inspired of God. I have never heard a Mormon give a convincing argument that the Book of Mormon should be included in the Bible cannon or is even authentic. That is the point I cannot get past with them.

some theology on trinity; God consists of God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, yes three persons but One within, we humans cannot completely comprehend the nature of God, someone smart said before that if you could comprehend God you would become God.

and if God is eternal and existed infinity before everything he created wouldn't he be very lonely to exist by himself, we people cannot exist on our own (that would be miserable life, we need communication)and Him too, that is how God is complete in himself

    • That is not a Bible based opinion.
