Actually, we can tell what's inside the sun by analysing the light it emits. When excited, different materials emit different colours of light. By refracting sunlight with a prism and analysing the colours, we can tell what's inside.

I've read some crazy things these past couple years--even about the sun. Not sure how much would really surprise me anymore. I obviously don't know what is true or not, but I don't think you are crazy or anything.
