Is it normal that i think the u.s. and europe should expand nato?

Because of the dire situation in Ukraine now, I think not only should the U.S. annex Ukraine into NATO. I think they should also oust the dictator of Belarus and get them to join. I think they should expel all the Russian separatists in Crimea and Donbas and reappropriate them back to Ukraine.

I think the U.S. should and NATO should expel the other separatists out of Georgia, have Georgia reclaim South Ossetia and Abhkazia, and have them Armenia, and Azerbaijan join NATO. In addition, I think the U.S. should get Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan to join NATO.

I think the U.S. should get Finland, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland, all the Balkan countries, and every other country in Europe who isn't a member to join NATO. I don't trust Russia not to intimidate any of its neighboring countries like Finland or those former Soviet republics. Lastly, I think they should get Mexico and all of Central America down to Panama, and maybe some countries in North Africa to join NATO. Does anyone think this is strange?

The US government doesn't want an all out war with Russia. Remember the number of nukes these nations have. If it escalates too far then every country will be sweating bullets. Since the cold war there's been a great deal of reluctance from both sides so as to not reach that point. Same goes in this case. The US knows it can't let what Russia is doing stand but at the same time can't get too hands on for multiple reasons. Unfortunately Ukraine will very likely be taken fully by Putin. He will continue phrasing it as though he isn't the bad guy and (fingers crossed) doesn't succeed at someday trading their way out of their current punishment being dealt to them by the NATO nations. Unfortunately it really won't do too much as Russia has the backing of at least 6 countries. If this goes wrong, there WILL be a full world war

I imagine a full world war is already well on its way. I don't believe Putin will succeed in annexing Ukraine either now that these sanctions are hammering the living shit out of Russia's economy. They won't have the resources to go to war. I don't know of any countries on Russia's side other than maybe China, Belarus, and North Korea possibly Iran. The U.S. has way more allies than either of those two. I used to live in Southeast Asia, and NOBODY likes China in that part of the world.

I want to agree with you but unfortunately there are a multitude of loopholes with the sanctions being placed on Russia. For example to you know 74% of the world's ransomware revenue is received by Russia? And that they're one of the top countries in the use of cryptocurrencies which banks and government are struggling to figure out how to freeze. Couple this with Russias ties with at least 6 nations (including China, Iraq, North Korea and Belarus are some) that fully support their actions and are not only sending money, weapons and Intel but are also providing food and other resources. Yes the sanctions tighten the Russian governments choices, but that have nowhere near the impact needed.
