Is it normal that i thought sex was sinful?

When I was a Christian, I thought sex was sinful because of what Jesus said about lust. Not sex outside of marriage or homosexuality or anything like that, but that sex itself was a sin. I don't really know where I got this idea. The problem was I also had an issue with compulsive masturbation, followed by guilt and self-loathing, convinced I was going to Hell.

Normal: conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.
"it's quite normal for puppies to bolt their food"

Considering you are living in a christian country I say its quite normal.

Why do you say you don’t know how you got this idea? It’s clearly from church dogma which has taught that Adam an Eve were ashamed because they were naked after they “partook of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil”, which is sex. It’s a parallel to our sexual awakening at the time of puberty, before which we’re innocent children, oblivious to sex, just like Adam and Eve.

Still the stupidest and dumbest shit I've ever heard. Why would god make us like this biologically? We are meant to have sex and masturbate. It's healthy

I would have voted no but I've read your post and it is normal that you believed that sex is sinful. Most christian do.
I have learned that the Jehovah's witnesses do not practise oral sex. I'm sure most do not obey this. lol

Condemning people for perfectly normal urges that they can't turn of is gonna mess with some peoples mind, it makes sense.

I once thought that. For me, at least, it was based in Paul's teaching of
"But if they do not contain themselves, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to be burnt."
which has the implication that it is worse to be married than to be unmarried, and while it is a true implication, it isn't for the reason, "sex is always immoral, even during marriage." Instead, it is simply better to stay unmarried if possible, because then you have more capability of focusing on God than family, since God is ultimately more important than family.
