Is it normal that i throw up aggressively seconds after i brush my tongue ?

I have tried for years to brush my tongue but every single time I try, I throw up aggressively within five seconds of finishing. I can only brush for maybe 3 seconds before having to run.

If you are a smoker, that will aggravate your gag reflex.
I know, probably not what you want to hear. But I used to smoke and could barely brush my teeth without gagging. Once i quit smoking (about a year ago) all was fine.

I smoke and indeed I find my gag reflex to be overly reactive when I brush my tongue. Sometimes even the idea of brushing my tongue makes me gag

If you can manage to quit smoking, your gag reflex will go back to normal and you will see a lot of other improvements with your health that you do not even realize are a problem right now.

It's not normal for your gag reflex to be that strong. Mine's pretty bad when I brush my tongue (so I got a tongue scraper...it can still set it off). I find humming while brushing it helps. Idk if that would work if yours is so extreme.

What happens when you go to the dentist?

It’s not a problem at the dentist because they don’t touch my tongue.

I have never been to a dentist that didn't touch the tongue.

            Weird.

            I guess that's lucky, though.

It’s avoidable by me it brushing my tongue, I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem.

You sure you're not hitting your gag reflex? That's strange. Go to a doctor if you are really concerned about it. Can you touch your tongue to your teeth and the roof of your mouth without feeling sick? It's just when YOU touch IT?

I just put my finger in the middle of my tongue and I gagged.

So don't shove your toothbrush so far back.

I legit don’t go far back at all. If I touch my tongue at all it happens.

It’s less healthy to throw up regularly than to not brush your tongue though, right? So, maybe just don’t brush your tongue and use mouthwash reguarly!
Go to your doctor if you’re worried!!
