Everytime we had a break, instead of talking to the other kids, I would go and hide. I was also afraid of a girl from first grade that would wander the classroom, and I wouldn't brush my teeth in front of the rest.
Somehow, it is really funny to remember those years, but I think I was something like the ultimate weirdo.
kinder garden was fucking boring. Except play doh time. It tasted pretty good too!
Say whaaaat? Why would you ever think you are weird? :P I was super super shy as well in kindergarten. Hell, I cried a lot until 6th grade whenever I got nervous. Man, that was the worst feeling in the world.
Even if you never get over your shyness, it's pretty normal. A lot of people don't even have a desire to get over their shyness.
We don't have kindergarten here but we have nursery school from 18 months to four years before you go to school for real. My strongest memory is that they gave me a box full of cogs and watch-springs every morning and watched (no pun) me try to build a timepiece.
What's become strange is that my great-grandfather was a jeweller specialising in watches and my grandfather went to jail for fencing stolen watches and that my first memory of my dad is him showing me his own dad's watch, and I'm obsessed with watches even now.
I guess we're both weird kids.
All kids are weird and do peculiar stuff.
When no one was around, I use to raid the garbage for uneaten and wrapped food in the garbage. Especially baked goods because my mum didn't allow us anything sweet at home or we were too poor. Kids through out so much good stuff. More for me. :)
considering most kids in kindergarten are between 4-5... i doubt anyone is really "normal".
I mean hell back when I was in kindergarten some of my classmates still wet their pants sometimes.
hiding behind a curtain?... not that drastic when you're that age.
Now if you were doing it as an older child, teen, or adult... then there may be something you need to worry about.
