Is it normal that i used to want to become another race?

I used to want to become another race ( for those wondering I am black.), I used to want to be white but then I asked myself " Why do you want to become another race? Be proud with the race you currently are. "

I told myself I am not having plastic surgeries or tan myself and I don't intend to. I don't want to end up like someone like Rachel Dolezal or someone like Oli London.

So I reached this final conclusion that you can't be another race, you have to continue to love yourself. Thus making me not want to become another race.

Not normal, but I can understand it if you're faced with a lot of racism and just dont want to deal with that.

    • My other reason of not wanting to be another race was because I always saw being another race as disrespecting myself.

This is normal but not good. You’re not the only person to ever feel like this. Just learn to be happy in your own skin

    • Thanks I always have loved my own skin.

      It's two words, self-love.
