Eating a hamburger- mainstream, safe, unoriginal
Eating out Hansburger- daring, adventurous, tinged with ketchup and danger
There's just something about that first bite of a homemade burger made exactly as you like with real, fresh ingredients
I think it's unusual if you live in America, but not necessarily weird or anything like that.
I'm curious, have you not had the opportunity, don't like certain ingredients, or just haven't really gotten around to it?
I actually thought I disliked burgers for a long time because the only kind I had had was McDonald's when I was a kid, until I tried one at a "gourmet" burger place when I was 17 or 18. I hadn't really eaten one since childhood and was telling my classmates about the experience, to which they said it was "un-American" to have not eaten a burger in so long, or to have only eaten McDonald's burgers, lol!
The knowledge that people unironically call each other “un-American” over hamburgers brightened my night.
I have had the opportunity, but they're at restaurants where I know what I like, and I just order the same stuff all the time.
I'm the same way, it is usually pretty hard to get me to try something new when I have something I already know I really like, unless I am tired of it or simply craving something different. It seems like if I stray from the norm, sometimes I will be disappointed and wish I ordered my regular, lol!
Of course it is. There are many things I've never eaten. I've never chewed gum for instance.
Yes it is, there's many stuff from other countries that I've yet to eat.
